Crunchy bottom deep dish pizza

Crunchy Bottom Deep Dish Pizza the Tra-Dish way

I love to cook! And being a mother of 4 I have learned not only to make a variety of different dishes but to also make shortcuts , my own recipes, and put my little spin on some of our favorites. One of the things I can always get my whole family to eat without a fuss is pizza. When time allows we make it a family process and have fun making great food and memories. So you can imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to put my spin on one of my families favorites Pizza. I chose deep dish pizza. Now usually when people make deep dish pizza they buy already made pizza dough and just roll it and bake it in the oven. I chose to make my own.

So I will start with my homemade ( bread machine ) crunchy deep dish pizza dough the ingredients are as follows :   2 tsp dried granulated yeast
               3 cups bread flower
               1 tsp sea salt
               1 cup water + 2 tbs water
               2 tbs sugar
               2 tbs olive oil

I add all ingredients listed into my bread machine and select dough cycle and start. When the cycle is complete I take the dough and place it into a well greased bowl roll it around , cover and leave in warm place for about half an hour. Next gently knead the raised dough lightly. To shape and bake I use a cast iron skillet for our crunchy bottom. So just take the dough and shape it to the lightly greased skillet use a fork to make several holes in the dough not all the way through just to make an indention. Now for the ingredients yummy!

We use 2 jars of  RagĂș® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce (  each jar of RagĂș® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce is made with 11 juicy tomatoes making it its  richest, thickest recipe.)
32 slices of pepperoni
3 cups of mozzarella cheese
1 cup Parmesan cheese.

Spread pizza sauce all over bottom of crust. Add first the mozzarella cheese sprinkling evenly around then add the Parmesan cheese also spreading evenly. Finally layer the pepperonis around the skillet to cover entire pizza. Bake on the bottom rack for around 25 minutes at 400 degrees. When done brush crust with 1 tbs butter Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
