So it has begun! Everyones favorite time of year is fastly approaching us. And every where we go we are reminded that the Holidays are near. As my family gets into the Holiday spirit we put up our tree and take out are big box of ornaments. Letting our kids open the box and watch as their eyes light up looking at all of our memories of years past and seeing them share their memories of each ornament as they pull them out.
As we sit and reminisce over holidays past we watch our favorite Christmas movies which is the same one evey year National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. And as we laugh and decorate our tree we share our favorite memories of each ornament. One of our most favorite ornaments as a family that we have are our Tinkerbell ones. ReplyDeleteOne of our children was born on Christmas Eve. So many of our "traditions and memories" are based on this special day. His paternal grandmother always made his birthday cake, and it didn't officially become Christmas Eve until he had cut his cake and everyone had a slice. Then, my husband and I would hand out presents for extended family. We have 10 kids, so as the years went by, our gatherings got larger and larger. Before they all headed off their separate ways, we would have as many as 50 people for dinner, cake and presents.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas memories are of my family. Every year we get together on Christmas Eve and my mom gives everyone their special Christmas pajamas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memories are of when the kids were really little and were excited over every present they'd get. Not that they aren't now, but they were much more enthusiastic when they were little.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory is spending Christmas with my kids as a family and doing my second child's birthday on Christmas every year since she was born on Christmas night, so we have cake instead of pie every year.
ReplyDeleteI love the tradition we have of opening a pair of pajamas on Christmas eve so everyone wakes up in their nice new jammies!
